GSX-R e899 K2 2016

 

Since February 2016 I am thinking about the new design of my next bicycle and found now my new design, going with KKK frame.

The new electrical motor will be an QS Motors 273 80H, 14/34kW, 144V version and up to 700A phase current and therefore good for around 400Nm. Already manufactured in August 2016

After 200 day of waiting for the customized frame with no results I decided to go with a gear defect Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K2.

In fact that the overall weight will be much higher than building everything into a bicycle frame and will have a negative influence but the breaking system of a motorcycle is much better than bicycle brakes!

Let´s start .... :

The base!

September 2016, Friday evening, my brother and myself need around 2,5 hours to strip the motorcycle by throwing out all equipment I do not need anymore.

The weight will go down from 191 kg (421 lbs) to 74 kg (163 lbs).

Saturday morning we install the fairing.

The fork suspension shall be reduced in length and also the front wheel will lost one brake disc.

Lamp cover will be glued in

Lowering from 120mm to75mm suspension (fork)  therefore I will have 55mm distance to ground.

Special swing arm extension. (I like drag sytle motorcycles) Regarding to the speciale axle of hubmotor (50mm diameter) I designed myself the new swing arm to drive the GSX-R from series with up to 300mm over wheel base (in 100mm steps).

My new controller (Kelly Controls: KHB14601, 144 V DC nominal voltage, 600 phase amps.
